With IISTOO we have tried not only a different way of telling a story but also a different path to reach out to our viewers.
So all that matters, is the review we receive from our viewers.
Here is one such in-depth review by a viewer all the way from Australia.
Since the viewer has been so elaborate in his review we decided to put it up as a blog. (Unedited and as is! )
"First of all thank you very much for all your help when we all wanted to watch the movie. The whole movie has been made with lot of love by the whole team. The love can be felt in the final product - IISTOO. The story is so simple and well put that we all can easily relate to it effortlessly. The casting director has done a marvellous job with the cast of the movie. Each and every character of the movie is from our day to day life. Anyone who would have or will watch the movie will surely agree to the fact that they would have come across atleast one such character from the movie in their life.
Talking about the characters, I thought I would do a proper justice to the movie if I would write about each and every character and what I felt about it. Whatever I am writing is straight from heart.
Lets start
1. Mota Pappa - I think any Indian household will surely have such a person as Mota Pappa, either totally like him or atleast a bit like him. His character is a very pramanik character. It is soo sweet of him to agree that he is hurt by whatever has happened. Him talking to Zeus ONLY (secretly) is soo natural. Not talking to anyone at all for over a decade will be socially very difficult for anyone. Him being the vadil manas in the family he sure does have some ego (one should have a bit of that for sure). This ego becomes a hindrance for him to break his vow for decade long period. This whole character is soo well played by Mr. Aspi Patel. Hats off to you sir.
2. Zeus - Zeus is the sweetest character. Basically a stress reliever and the voice of Mota Pappa. All his talks with Mota Pappa at all times are soo true. His curiosity to understand what is going on in Mota Pappas mind, helps Mota Pappa to understand where he needs to correct himself. As Bhakrawala saheb says, Zeus ekdum thavko che. Shahaan Pardiwala is such a natural acter. He has played the role very well.
3. Bhakrawala uncle - This character reminds me of someone who used to come to our house every week to sell Sukko Nashto, for years. It is soo simple for the people who are not a part of our family to soo easily become a part of our daily life. When they are not around one surely misses them. Even though it is a character which is in the movie for such a short role, it makes us realise that even they have some opinion in ones family and it is accepted very well too. Mr. Pardiwala you have done proper justice to the role.
4. Shahzaad - Shahzaad is a typical youngster. Everyone takes him for granted in one way, by thinking that he doesn't wear Sadro ane kashti, doesnt understand religions texts etc. The fact is totally opposite of what one thinks. Shahzaad is the one who helps Zeus understand the religious text when he didnt understand it, infact helps him learn it through the easy medium which makes it easy for youngsters to understand it. Him telling Perizaad that he wears his Sadro - Kashti everyday and that surprising Perizaad shows how youngsters are a lot of times not understood well by adults. Nonetheless everyone cares and loves Shahzaad. Shahen Pardiwala your talent is something that cannot be hidden. You doing really well.
5. Perizaad - I think she is a very sweet character in the movie. Sachhu bole etle Kekashru ne kadvi lage. She works hard for each and every member in the family, without any bias at all. Her dialogues at the end with Mota Pappa sums her character soo well. A lot of times koino kai vaank na hoy to pan saja bhogve che. Kainaaz you have done a really good job. Can soo very well relate to you.
6. Kekashru - Majjeno Bawaji, enjoys life the way it should be by everyone. We all have a Kekashru in all of us but "badha su bolse" that thought kills the Kekashru in us. He can keep any secret soo well. IISTOO banave tema badhu hoy pan jo mithu(salt) na hoy to maja na aave. Kekashru is that mithu in IISTOO. Pratik Suratwala you have done a fabulous job. Proud of you.
7. Mami - Loved the songs that she sings and hums. Mami is one such character that anyone of us can become in life. We but for sure need Mami in our life in one or the other way so that we dont forget our culture (without any medical condition). Very sweetly played by Dhun Patel. You sound soo sweet. I repeat, we all loved the songs you sang in the movie.
8. Aparna and Noshir - In future there will be many more Aparna and Noshir. One has to learn to accept the fact and change with time. Even Mota Pappa accepted them. Rekha Mistry and Rahul Arora a job well done. Keep it up both of you.
The recipe of this IISTOO is a beautiful one - perfectly spiced with all the ingredients (actors) the chefs (team) have followed the method (movie making process) so well.
HATS OFF TO THE WHOLE TEAM."

Hiren.
